Cookie Policy

Effective date: August 14, 2026 · Last updated: August 14, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Nexus Web Services LLC, doing business as Argo Shipping (“Argo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on www.argoshipping.com. It forms part of, and should be read with, the data-privacy provisions of our terms and conditions.

1. WHAT COOKIES ARE

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Related technologies do similar jobs, including local storage, session storage, pixels, and tags. In this policy, “cookies” means all of them.

Cookies are either first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by another provider whose service runs on the page). They are also either session cookies, which disappear when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain until they expire or you delete them.

2. HOW WE APPROACH THIS SITE

This site is built to be lightweight. It uses self-hosted fonts and first-party scripts, and it makes no third-party requests to render a page.

We do not set any non-essential cookie until you tell us we may. When you first visit, you will see a short cookie notice. Nothing in the optional categories below runs unless and until you accept it. If you decline, the site works normally.

We do not use cookies to sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use them for profiling or automated decision-making.

3. CATEGORIES WE USE

3.1 Strictly necessary (always active)

These are required for the site to load, to keep it secure, and to remember the cookie choice you make. They cannot be switched off, and under both EU/UK and US law they do not require your consent. We do not use them to track you across sites.

3.2 Analytics (optional, off by default)

If you allow it, we use analytics to understand which pages are useful, how visitors move through the site, and where something is broken or confusing. We use this to improve the site. This category is off unless you turn it on.

3.3 Advertising (not used)

We do not currently set advertising or targeting cookies, and we do not run advertising pixels on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy and add the category to the cookie notice before any such cookie is set.

4. WHAT IS ACTUALLY STORED

The table below lists what this site stores, by category and purpose.

Name Category Purpose Set by Duration
argo-consent Strictly necessary Records the cookie choice you made, so we honor it and do not ask again on every page. Stored in your browser’s local storage rather than as a cookie, and holds only your category choices and the date you made them. Argo (first party) Until you clear it or your choice is reset
Analytics cookies Analytics Distinguish one visit from another and measure page and session activity so we can see which pages are useful. Set only after you accept the analytics category. Our analytics provider (third party) Session up to 13 months, depending on the cookie

Because analytics providers change their own cookie names and lifetimes from time to time, we describe that row by purpose rather than listing names that would go out of date. For the exact cookies in place during your visit, your browser’s developer tools will show everything currently stored, and you can email us at privacy@argoshipping.com for the current detail.

Our logged-in customer and partner applications are separate from this marketing site and use their own strictly necessary cookies and tokens to keep you signed in, protect your session, and remember essential preferences. Those are covered by the notice presented within the relevant application.

5. YOUR CHOICES

5.1 Changing or withdrawing your choice

Select Cookie Preferences at the bottom of any page to see the categories again and change what you allow. You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it, at any time, and withdrawing takes effect immediately for anything we set going forward. Withdrawing consent does not undo processing that already, lawfully, took place.

5.2 Browser controls

Most browsers let you see what is stored, block cookies, and delete them, under settings named something like Privacy, Cookies, or Site data. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of our applications from working. Clearing your browser storage also clears the record of your cookie choice, so we will ask again on your next visit.

5.3 Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

Some browsers and extensions can send an opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control (GPC). Because this site sets no advertising cookies and does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no such sale or sharing for a signal to stop. Analytics on this site is opt-in regardless of any signal your browser sends.

6. LEGAL BASIS AND YOUR RIGHTS

Where the EU or UK GDPR and ePrivacy rules apply, we rely on your consent for all non-essential cookies, and on our legitimate interests for strictly necessary cookies that keep the site working and secure. Where US state privacy laws apply, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, we do not sell or share personal information collected through cookies, and we treat the analytics category as optional rather than relying on an opt-out alone.

For questions about your broader privacy rights, including access, correction, and deletion, email privacy@argoshipping.com.

7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Cookie Policy as the site changes. When we add a new cookie category or a materially different use, we will revise the “Last updated” date and ask for your choice again before the new cookies are set.
